Today has been such a great day. Since Scott has been working late, he's been around in the mornings which has been nice. He gets the girls breakfast. I cleaned while the girls played, we got lessons done without issues, and ate lunch. Then we all bundled up and headed over to the park near our house for sledding and snow play. The girls played hard for a good two hours and were wiped out when we got home. The snow was deep and they had to really work to walk around. Plus all the up and down the hill to sled helped tire them out. I'm done. I made popcorn and the girls are quietly eating. I hope all this physical activity will help me have a fast labor. ;)

Vera slept in Abby's bed until about 4am this morning. I really think she'll sleep through the night once she has her own bed. Her biggest complaint is Abby getting too close to her. I so wish we could get bunk beds!

My mother and mother inlaw announced our registry for the baby since there won't be a baby shower. Email me for the info.

I hit publish before I was done. So that's where we are sleep wise. Soon Scott will start to sit with Vera. I am a bit nervous about bedtime once the baby comes. I gotta plan for the worst.

Vera's down to nursing just 30 seconds on each boob before bed. Last night she didn't ask to nurse at all. I feel pretty good about where we are with weaning.

What else? Oh, Abby's moving along through first grade. We breeze through the math with no issues. I'm always impressed by Abby's ability to do the math in her head. I've started pushing the reading more. Abby's finally starting to show an interest. We started the writing program. It's mostly copywork and listening to a short passage and answering questions. There's a huge stress on answering in complete sentences, and Abby always rolls her eyes when I correct her. Anyways, between the writing program, handwriting, grammer, and the Bob Books she should start to get the hang of reading soon. Hopefully.

This is the last week of dance, and it's bittersweet. On one hand I'm glad I don't have to trek into the city twice a week anymore. It's physically exhusting for me. Then on the other hand, Abby's sad she has to miss a semester. I'm really hoping we can get her into the summer camp. Both girls in summer camp would be wonderful.

I can't believe I'm in my third trimester. Time is going by too fast. We need to order our birth kit. I need to get the diapers together. Etc. Etc.

So the girls are in the same bed for now. The insurance company giving us grief has caused a lot of problems. The biggest being we have to hold off on getting the bunk beds. Bedtime is interesting. Abby would rather us read a book, turn off the lights and leave, but I have to sit there with Vera. Vera is unpredictable. Some nights are wonderful. She falls asleep with no issues. Then there are the other nights. There's lots of crying, a tantrum, and then finally, she'll fall asleep. But if Vera has that crying spell before bed, it's a given she'll wake up multiple times that night crying.

Soon I promise

I finally got my phone back, which means I can blog again. Hopefully, I'll get a few moments to blog tonight. But a quick recap- I'm 28 weeks today, the girls are sleeping together in their own bed, Vera is nearly completely weaned, and I'm feeling very unprepared for this babe.

Our trip to MD was crazy busy. We left on the 24th and came home on the afternoon of the 31st. That will be our last trip down to MD for a good long while. I don't want to travel late in my pregnancy and traveling with three kids does not sound like a picnic right now.
Today was the first day the girls and I spent the day alone and first day back in lessons. It was an awesome day. We got up, ate, I cleaned the living room, then started lessons. Today I mostly wanted to get back to our normal routine and clean. The girls played with each other all day. When I was finished my chores, the girls had no interest in any activity or game that included me. They made their own apartments in my bedroom, and played house all day.
My belly feels huge. I might just burst before my due date. This baby feels so strong to me, like the baby has a strong energy about her. Scott and I both feel this will be a very quick birth. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. Tomorrow I have a prenatal then the sonogram to double check the baby's heart. Busy day.
I reorganized the playroom toys a bit. I spaced some things out and moved some toys out. I'm trying to visualize how I'm going to baby proof the playroom yet again. We have a ton more tiny toys, like Legos, and not enough shelf space up high. The trick is how to baby proof and keep the room rabbit proof all at the same time.
Marge missed us terribly while we were in MD. Poor thing gets so pissy. She chased and followed Scott whenever he was home and tried to nip him several times. When we got home, she acted a bit angry doing her lunging thing, but a good dose of petting and sweet talking and she laid out next to the girls. Marge really needs a boyfriend.
